A multifaceted life psychologist, author, mind wellness and personal success coach, Dr Susan Koruthu bestrides several fields of experience. Currently a licenced mind care, family and social care practitioner, an approved guide (to provide professional supervisory services) under CDA, Dubai, under community development authority, Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Prior to private practices, she served as a senior leader in a multinational corporate for over a decade. She started her career as a programme officer for the WHO street children rehabilitation project in Thriruvanthapuram; she worked closely in association with social welfare ministries, correctional institutions, schools and universities and organisations.
She is a altruistic and holistic life psychologist and mind wellness therapist and coach spanning over two decades of career in dealing with people, marriage, family, teen, parenting and business wellness. She is an expert karma therapist and fertility therapist. She has won many awards and appreciation for the work she does in psychology and social work. She has published two books and the third one is due for release in October 2021.
Born in Kerala, India, in 1970, Dr Susan achieved her educational excellence from India and the UK. She owns a PhD in women health psychology, fertility, MSc applied psychology in industrial and organisational counselling and behaiviour (business psychology), MSW in delinquency and correctional administration, MBA in strategic and leadership management. She has expertise in Hypnotherapy, Transactional Analysis (TA), Yoga, Pranic Healing and Diploma in Drug & Alcoholic Counselling and Therapy, Training on Prevention of Drug Abuse and Alcoholism.
Dr Susan is a member American Psychological Association. One of the pioneers licenced practitioners under CDA, Dubai Dr Susan established her private practices in counselling, psychotherapy, life skills coaching and business skills coaching in 2010. Her core competencies are human personality disorders, behaviour disorders and human sexual behaviour, business/corporate behaviour, couple relationship and family mediation, life success coaching.
Dr Susan is a recognized authority on life success therapies and counselling and essential life-building skills coaching in the Middle East and India. During her over a decade long career in the business and corporate world, Susan handled key responsibilities of QSE implementation for the middle east business. She gained expertise in administration and HR process management, replacement and succession planning, senior manager development, internal career movements, mentoring and coaching, internal career development and management. During her tenor as an employee liaison officer, specialist support for layoffs and an internal auditor have given her hands-on experience in policy and procedure management, strategic management, leadership coaching, employee counselling. She has organised international seminars and business exhibitions, employee wellness workshops.
Dr Susan started her career in the Middle East as a senior executive in a multinational company in 1996. As a licenced practitioner, she has worked with over forty nationalities. She coached over five hundred professionals and leaders, conducted more than ten thousand counselling and grooming sessions, over a hundred couples and family for mediation and counselling, ten successful fertility cases, over thousands of teens and parents. She has delivered over 250 corporate skill & wellness workshops for large cooperates and SMEs.
She presented papers in international seminars and was a regular speaker at GESS Dubai. Susan is a winner of Guinness Book of World records as author participant, Sharjah International book fair 2019, Published papers in national & international journals and articles in various magazines. She has won the Golden Achievement Award for Social Care and Human Development 2014, Business Excellence Award by Biz Dubai 2017, and the Etisalat SME business award finalist 2019.
Susan is active in social media and visual media. She uses it as an instrument in life and mind wellness interactions. She has two YouTube channels that showcase her talks and expert advice on mind wellness, personal success, and life well-being. She releases videos on mind wellness, career and business wellness, teen and parent wellness, student wellness, couple and marriage wellness. Her Malayalam series on Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) and Human Sexual Behaviour (HSB) are popular. Her You Tube channel ‘The Gospel of Reality’ aims to give insights into the psychological aspects of the holy book (The holy Bible), which will help people lead a scientific prayer life.
She is a TV and radio personality; her weekly live show ‘Dr.Manashasthri was a popular show among gulf Malayalees; she is an expert guest in interactive shows. She is regular on writing blog posts with articles titled The Art of Living Happy, a psychic satire titled Kimko Komki, motivation messages titled Words of Wisdom and monthly One Page Adviser OPA. Her podcast ‘The Hidden Power’ encourages personal transformation.
Her first book ‘Listen Mom & Dad I am Your Teen Speaking’ (2018) is a must-read for every parent and teen. It is the best user guide for parents to groom, guide and mentor their volatile teens in a methodical and appropriate manner. These are a compendium from the author’s work with thousands of her teen clients and parents over two decades, coupled with recent research findings. Her biography cannot be completed without mentioning her gurus. Susan's life guru is her father Varkey Abraham Puthooran, corporate guru is Anthony McCarter, humano-divine gurus are St.George and Swami Vivekananda, and she is a devotee of Lord Jesus.
Dr Susan Koruthu is the eldest daughter of late Varkey Abraham and Chinnamma Abraham. Her husband is Maju Koruthu, a lighting consultant; she is a mother of two daughters, Shreya and Rhea. She now resides in Dubai, UAE, together with her family.
