Something More About Emotions!

Emotions are vital to understanding how people and events affect us. Each emotion tells us something that we experience. Emotions help us regulate our lives, yet most of us don’t like few or all emotions and are not able to manage them for good. Many still believe that emotions are awful. When making a decision, we mostly think logic is only applicable without realising how vital emotions are in making any decision in life. The black and white way of logical decision-making is changing with the advanced studies in neuroplasticity. Human brain scanning techniques help experts to understand how emotions are generated and affect our brains and behaviour.

Current studies confirm that emotions are not involuntarily happening but happen to us voluntarily. Emotions are generated and managed by our brains. If we can master the skill of creating and managing our emotions in every life situations, we can master our emotions. Emotional mastery is the key to managing our emotions and logical mastery helps to make logical applications in our life. Emo-logic mastery is what we need so that we can balance our emotional and logical brain in decision-making.

The word emotion was adapted from the French word émouvoir, which means "to stir up." The Latin derivative for the word emotion, 'emotere', means energy in motion. Emotion is a stirred-up state of mind when connected with a stimulus such as an event, message, sound, person or a thing. Every emotion starts with a feeling. The feeling gets matured to generate an emotion. Emotions create a kind of energy that is complementary to the nature and intensity of our emotions. This energy connects our mind, body and soul. That is why the body reacts to the emotions that we experience. Since our mind, body and soul are interconnected, they respond to each other seamlessly. When we are overwhelmed with any emotion, it will affect the natural flow of energy, which will cause issues in our mind, body and soul. When there is an energy block or overflow happens, it bloats and breaks the healthy balanced functioning of the trio. It is better to check the flow of emotional energy in our system whenever an emotional outbreak happens and before making any decision or performing any action.

The current brain studies help us to understand the effect of emotions in our brain. This new finding has changed the old concept of emotion being a naturally occurring feeling that is impossible to control. Now we know that emotions can be consciously controlled or moderated. When we experience a flow of more than one emotional energy such as anger, love, and jealousy in our trio-system, we get into a mode of an explosion that can cause severe damage to oneself and others. We need to develop emo-logic mastery in managing our emotions blended with logic in the most effective manner to take actions in a way we feel proud of ourselves. We can achieve it by mastering the skills to manage our personal, family, marriage, social, spiritual, and career lives. It is not the emotions but the emotional capability that makes you react or respond to every emotion you experience. You need to acquire the skills of understanding the logic of emotions to balance them well to be effective in any life situation.
